He doesnt need anything new, he just needs to find his putter plane and keep the face square to that plane. When he does he can work on green reading and speed control,because his putts will start where he’s aiming!
What does square to the plane mean, is that the putterface staying at right angles to the target line?
The plane in putting is angled at your shaft address angle. Square to the plane means at right angles to this plane.The face will appear to open and close relative to the target line. Flatter lie angles or plane angles optically illude to open and close more whereas more upright plane angles will illude less. Only a pure vertical plane angle with a 90 degree lie angle putter would appear to stay at right angles to the “target line”. Check out the 3D model video.
