Putting Practice
How do I Practice with this golf putting trainer?
- Setup the PLANEPUTT putting trainer on your carpet or Putting Mat.
- Align PLANEPUTT parallel to a target or Target Line.
- Use the 2 inner rails firstly for 20 strokes.
- Attach Laser to putter shaft aligning laser line at right angles to putter face.
Take care to ensure accuracy in all alignments.
- Do another 20 strokes monitoring the laser line to ensure it stays on line or parallel to the target line. This ensures the putterface is staying square to the Plane.
- When you are feeling what you need to do to make the face stay square and on-plane then add the 3rd outside rail.
- In sets of 10 repetitions count how many times that you dont hit any rails.
Practice daily and keep a log for a week of your progress. If successful strokes are less than 8/10, increase the gap between the inner and outer rails. If your success is greater than 8/10, then reduce the gap in the rails. You are always looking for 8/10 with a minimum gap or tolerance. In your first week you should have done 20 + 20 + (3 * 10) daily * 7 Days = 490 strokes… all very very close to the same. Over 2000 strokes in the first month! “I CHALLENGE YOU TO STICK WITH IT FOR THE FIRST MONTH”. After a month you may practice periodically but at least twice a week. Imagine over the years how many repetitive strokes you will have made!

Can I Practice outdoors with PLANEPUTT putting trainer?
Absolutely, but if you want to practice with the Laser attached then you will need to find a shady spot or at dusk as lasers are not visible in direct sunlight.
Do I putt balls with the PLANEPUTT putting trainer?
Yes, do your stroke monitoring and then hit some putts with the ball directly lined up with the sweetspot of the putter. If the PLANEPUTT is aligned exactly parallel to the target and your ball is on the target line all you have to do is make a good stroke and the ball will start on line.
Whats the Philosophy of Putting?
Once you’ve trained your stroke, read the green and aimed your putter, all you can do is start the ball rolling at your estimated speed and after that it’s between the ball, the grass and the hole. All you can do is root for it from there! If you concentrate on this process, not have anxiety or be judgemental about the outcomes, then the long term ratio of successes of the putts made will be far far greater.
What about the Yips?
The yips is a nervous condition that originated by missing putts. Poor fundamentals in the beginning led to a fear of missing which self perpetuates by missing putts. The anxiety felt and self judgement becomes a physical affliction in the nerves which makes putting even worse. The answer is to relearn putting from the beginning with a new set of fundamentals, crosshand, claw grip, belly putter or long putter. Then putting is an entirely new skill set. You absolutely must begin immediately to make putts with the new style, or missing will produce the same affliction. What better way to start a complete new putting style than to start with PLANEPUTT and groove a conceptually sound and repetitive stroke which has to lead to more putts holed.
